"Out of the Smoke" is the newest firefighting and fire prevention blog. The mission of "Out of the Smoke" is to bring readers the latest firefighting news not only the Philadelphia region but news from the whole country. "Out of the Smoke" will feature fire related news and stories, fire prevention, and fire training information.
The blog is run by Mark Wilson. Wilson is a journalism student at La Salle University, who has been a firefighter since 2010. He holds numerous national and state certifications including Firefighter II and Vehicle Rescue Technician. As a member of the Abington Township Fire Department, he has become a member in good standing, helping the department achieve accreditation from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress. The ATFD has also won the Chief Robert W. Little Jr. Memorial Fire Safety Education Award given out by the Firemen’s Association of the State of Pennsylvania. Wilson is a member of the fire prevention committee.
